Education is the foundation for growth. Students enrolled in the massage therapy training program learn the fundamentals of anatomy, kinesiology, and physiology. Taught by experienced massage therapists who continually update the curriculum to reflect current industry trends, they learn sports, shiatsu, and other specialized massage techniques.

Since massage therapy often involves the use of complementary forms of medical treatment, students are provided with the opportunity to study polarity, lymphatic drainage, and aromatherapy. They’ll discuss the practical application of these techniques and how to integrate complementary therapies into a client’s regular massage sessions. In addition, students will learn the fundamentals of yoga, first aid, and CPR.

The massage therapy program is comprised of 62 credit hours. After graduating from the 42 week program, students receive a career diploma. Certification is required to practice as a licensed massage therapist.

Job Opportunities for Massage Therapists

Massage therapists who wish to use their skills to help others have a number of career options. They can seek employment with chiropractic offices, clinics, spas, resorts, cruise ships, and sports facilities. Many College massage therapy graduates opt to open their own businesses. Experienced health information technology professionals are eligible for a number of administrative or supervisory positions.
